Médoc Marathon September 2009 - Wine-tasting with Sommeliers
In 2009 we participated in the Wine Marathon in Médoc, France – a 42.195 kilometre long celebration of wine.
To commemorate its 25th staging, the organizers had asked all runners to wear circus attire which definitely added to the exotic flair of this marathon. Of course, the main emphasis was on wine, the run taking us through high-ranking wineries boasting names such as Château Lafite Rothschild, Château Mouton Rothschild, Lynch-Bage, Pichon Longqueville,
Beychelle and many more.
Delicious wine, imbibed in the company of first-class sommeliers in their Châteaux coupled with the spectacular vineyards landscape of southern France made this a very special event for our Rotarian runners.
